Explore the Kaziranga mystique
Bordered on the north by the Brahmaputra river and on the south by the Karbi Anglong hills, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kaziranga National Park is best known for the one-horned rhino. Covering over 884 sq. kms of large wetlands, dense forest and elephant grass, the park is also home to elephants, white water buffalos and swamp deer, tigers and leopards. What is less known is that the park has over 400 species of birds, including a large number of migratory varieties.
Diphlu River Lodge has 12 quaint cottages all of which sleep two. Four cottages face the river and the other eight the paddy fields. The cottages are all raised on cement stilts and special care has been taken to use locally available and sustainable materials. Keeping with the natural surroundings, the roofs of all cottages are thatched. Each cottage has an ensuite bathroom with an attached dressing area and wardrobe. All cottages have a large glass door that opens out to a veranda.
Dining
The lodge offers traditional Assamese, Burmese, Thai, Italian, Chinese and Continental cuisine. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style. For dinner, one can opt for a pre-plated meal as well.
There’s enough and more to do at the Diphlu River Lodge. Enjoy a morning or evening safari around the Kaziranga National Park and spot the famous one-horn rhino. A unique experience is elephant bathing. Or enjoy the exuberance of Assamese dances. Do visit the local village for a glimpse into the homes and lives of the tribal people who inhabit this rich land. If tea is your preferred cuppa, visit a nearby tea garden.
Perfect for
The lodge is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, families with children or those looking to enjoy a quick break and enjoy being close to nature.
Closed
