The Kin

The Kin Hotel

The Kin is a boutique hotel in Mumbai brimming with artful accents inspired by their travels, from a vinyl listening nook to swish stationery. The duo behind the property are siblings Imrun Sethi and Guneet Singh and its bones have been in the family for decades. The hotel features 15 rooms, with five cast across each level. All are distinct, yet feature common design denominators. Marble floors move from checkerboard patterns to free-flowing emerald streaks, and porthole windows frame everything from the branches of fig trees to glimpses of the sea. All in-house meals are served from Terttulia, a European-style bistro that occupies the ground floor of the property—an oasis of fresh flowers, the main restaurant home to Sunday morning saxophone sets, and the cocktail section home to Saturday night DJs doing their thing until 1:30am. Dadar, where The Kin is built, sports a number of other local food options including Ashok Vada Pav, Aaswad, Light of Bharat, Gomantak, Chaitanya, and Bastian - At The Top on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square. Doubles from Rs10,000*.
