Dhyaana Farms Destination

Destination

Aurangabad is a vibrant city celebrated for its deep cultural legacy and historic landmarks. It is home to icons such as Bibi Ka Maqbara—often called the Taj of the Deccan - the commanding Daulatabad Fort, and the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Ellora Caves, renowned for their extraordinary Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain rock-cut temples. Beyond the city, the surrounding region offers exceptional nature and wildlife encounters. Gautala Autramghat Sanctuary is known for sightings of leopards, sloth bears, and sambar deer across dramatic landscapes. At the same time, Jayakwadi Bird Sanctuary draws birdlife such as flamingos, cranes, and pintails, making it an ideal day excursion from the city. Set within this undisturbed landscape, Dhyaana Farms lies just 300 metres from the Ellora Temple Caves and 15 km from Daulatabad Fort. With sweeping mountain views, the farm offers a quiet, restorative setting where guests experience sustainable living, grow their own food, and reconnect with nature’s rhythms.

Design and Concept

Dhyaana Farms is designed as a functioning agricultural ecosystem rather than a decorative countryside retreat. Spread across 14 acres, the property integrates living spaces directly within working farmland shaped by organic and permaculture principles. Architecture here is deliberately restrained and vernacular. Structures are crafted by local artisans using natural, regionally sourced materials, including bamboo and mud plaster, allowing interiors to remain breathable and climate-responsive. The design language is minimal and textural, favouring natural light, open patios, and seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. Sustainability is not positioned as an add-on but as the structural backbone of the property. The farm operates fully off-grid, powered entirely by solar energy. Rainwater harvesting systems support cultivation, while farm-to-table practices ensure that agriculture, dining, and daily operations remain interconnected. The built form, farming systems, and guest experience form a continuous, self-sustaining cycle.
