I hate it when toilets are labeled Male and Female. Worse when it is Menz and Womenz, I wish I could stage a demonstration and incite other people to stay away from such offending places to relieve oneself. But when nature calls.... who has the time or choice ?

However as I travel around one of the things that catches my eye is the way toilets are marked for men and women. I have taken pictures and many notes. Some are funny, some very intelligently drive home the point , a few are subtle while others way too bizarre. Some are cheeky and a few more are absolutely classic. There have also been times when I have misread the sign and walked into a urinal ! How on earth does a triangle pointing downwards signify a man while one pointing up means it is for women. Ofcourse I missed the bow which made all the difference ! Placed over the head for the ladies and within the triangle for men.

There is one I saw in one of the hotels in Kenya, a spear for the Men's and two round earrings for the ladies. It made me stop and smile a bit.

And one that amuses me no end is this sign at one of my favorite places to eat in Mumbai, Saltwater Café in Bandra…. A peg for the Men’s and a hollow space for the ladies !!
